2026 FREE STITCH-A-LONG

For the seventh year running I am once again running a FREE Year Long Stitch-A-Long (SAL).

When I released the first Peppermint Purple Stitch-A-Long it was the only Year Long Blackwork SAL available; Now that there are lots to choose from, I very, very much appreciate that you are still here, and am very grateful for your support!

THIS YEAR THERE ARE OPTIONS AGAIN.....AND LOTS OF THEM !

.....and you are in control !!!!

Each Month is a FREE Mini-SAL in it's own right, so you can do any number of months duration, or the whole year, or 12 individual mini-sals or even a 4month sal plus 6mini-sals.....you get the idea.

This is literally the SAL which will fit in with your life and time available.

LAYOUTS

To give you an indication of what is to come, this is the layout for the Full Year, as you can see each 'Calendar Month' is a Mini-SAL in it's own right, allowing you to dip in and out if needed.

The Colours shown are a suggestion (and included in the free pdfs), but you could do Birth Stone colours, Birth Flower colours, or any combination you like.

If you find decisions hard or are easily overwhelmed, then please just go with the Standard 52 section SAL as this is the same easy to follow format as normal (it also comes with Free border options)

What are Peppermint Purple Sals

Peppermint Purple SALS (shorthand for Stitch-A-Longs) are FREE (yes FREE!) year long sewing projects, with participants all over the world.

There are currently over 42,000 participants (both on facebook and here on the website).

Why am I being asked to pay - I thought it was free?

There are 3 free Layouts and 2 Free Borders for the full 52 section SAL. This is all you will need to participate and end up with a gorgeous design. These are all available to download from the 2026 Members Area.

There are however some optional extras that you can choose to purchase if you wish eg Fancy borders.

If you are being asked to pay anything and just wanted the Free Version then please empty your shopping cart, and download the free files from the Members Area.

How do they work

At the beginning of the project I release the Layout Files which will tell you the dimensions and colours and which explain what section goes where.

I will then release a section every week (on Wednesdays at 8:30GMT) - both here on the website and in the Facebook group starting on the first Wednesday of 2026, which is the 7th Jan.

What supplies will I need?

You will need to provide

  • Material
  • Needle
  • Threads

The material dimensions and thread colours will be provided on the layout file. (you can choose your own colours though if you prefer)

How do I join?

You will need to register to participate.
