GENERAL QUESTIONS

How can I download charts from previous orders?

To download any historic purchases

  • Log into your account
  • Click on the Purple Button for Orders
  • Find the order number you need and click on it
  • Scroll to the bottom for all the chart download links.

What does 'one page version' mean?

A lot of people prefer to read charts on their tablets rather than print them out these days, and for charts that go over more than one page, the page turns are awkward, so the One Page version is the whole chart squashed onto one page so that mobile devices can zoom in and not have to worry about the page splits – if you were to print it though it would be unreadable.

Can I sell the finished products I stitch?

Yes, I am happy for you to sell your finished items (on a small scale); Please credit Peppermint Purple as the designer.

Patterns themselves however, cannot be resold, or shared, in any capacity whether for profit or not, regardless of the format they were purchased in (ie. hard copies in kits are also prohibited from resale.)

Please note that all of my patterns are protected by copyright: View Details

Can I print my PDF for a friend to also use?

No, you are not permitted to do this; It is a violation of copyright law. Even if the pattern is free.

I am based in the UK so here is a link to the guidance provided on this by my government, however most countries around the world follow the same principles:

"Patterns that have been downloaded are of course equally protected by copyright and will similarly prevent you from sharing patterns that you have acquired in electronic form (for example, by emailing them on to someone else)""most countries have agreed to abide by one or more international treaties that guarantee minimum standards of copyright protection and provide for reciprocal protection. This means that a person who has produced a knitting or sewing pattern in the UK, for example, may enforce their copyright in the United States, and vice versa."

Can I forward on a PDF that I have now decided to not stitch?

No, you are not permitted to do this; It is a violation of copyright law. Even if the pattern is free.

The price says Tax Included, but tax is shown on my receipt?

All of the prices shown on the website include tax. However, if tax is applicable then there will be a breakdown shown on your receipt. You have not been charged the Tax amount stated on the receipt on top of the pattern price. It is showing the portion of the pattern price that is now a tax liability for me.

Everyone is charged the same for my patterns regardless of which country or state you live in and I take the hit of any Tax liability out of any profit.

eg. If a pattern is 5 (this could be £,$ or whever currency you like)

You will only ever pay 5

If you live in a country/state that I am required to pay taxes in, then I may then have to pay a percentage of this back to your country/state, but the amount you pay remains unchanged, but legally the receipt has to show you this amount/breakdown.

ISSUES WITH CHARTS

I need a One Page Version or bigger print version

This is no problem at all - some of my more recent patterns have mobile versions available, but a lot of the older ones do not. If you need one please just contact me and I can create it for you.

If you a struggling with the charts and need a bigger print version with less stitches per page, please just contact me and I would be happy to provide one.

My pattern appears to have lines missing

I create all of my patterns on A4 size paper. If your paper is a different size, eg. USA Letter then the print may cut a couple of lines off as USA letter is shorter than A4.

To fix this, in your printer dialogue box that pops up, please ensure that 'fit to page' is ticked.

I am struggling to import into Pattern Keeper

Unfortunately Pattern Keeper (PK) does not, at this time, support Backstitch, and so it is not compatible with any Blackwork patterns.

I am trying to download and getting an IP error

This error means you have hit a downloaded threshold. Files automatically have a 5 IP download threshold ie. this can be downloaded on 5 different devices/IP addresses, which should be plenty.

Files only need to be downloaded once and you can then copy the downloaded file to the devices you need them on, or open this file each time you wish to use it, so the chances are that you do not need to download this again, you can just find the previously downloaded copies.

If you encounter this error and do need to download the file again, then you will need to contact me as I will need to reset the download limits.

The pdf is all in English, but I need another language

Unfortunately I am unable to cater for all languages, however there is a little known service, provided by google, which will allow you to upload a pdf and choose the language to translate it into. Please Click Here to use this service.

DESIGN QUESTIONS

Do you accept Commissions?

I am afraid that I do not accept personalised commissions eg. names/dates etc

However if you have a non-personalised design in mind that you cannot find on my site then I do have the option to Request a Pattern, as I am always happy to consider adding to my library.

Can I use your fills in other patterns?

All of my patterns, free or paid, have the terms and conditions stated on them (on page 2).

Some of the fills I use are historic and not designed by me, and I have no claim over those and they can be used freely as they are so old that they are no longer protected by copyright.

Fills that I have designed however, should not be used either for personal use or for use on patterns intended for sale.
